Can't import a 4.7mb png file into media pool

My apple Iphone 11 captures 4k photos and when I download such a still image from iCloud to my laptop it is a 4. 7mb png. However, when I load that png file into the Media Pool this is how it looks in the media pool:

(no image, just the black box) and, though I can drag that blackened square (w/no image) into the timeline, I then can't do anything with it there.

Any ideas? (Incidentally, if I first open the file in Corel and re-save it (still as a png) then it becomes a much smaller (2.4mb) file that will import into Resolve (but, of course, with half the quality). That's a hint, I suppose, as to what the problem is but surely Resolve can handle a large png. There must be some other problem. JPG's import into Resolve just fine...just this problem with png's but it's killing me.

Are using free Resolve or Resolve Studio? I believe there are some format limitations and size limitations with the former.

Perhaps you can add a sample PNG file for us to check? Please do add some info on your Resolve version,OS, hardware, drivers etc for context. Please see viewtopic.php?f=21&t=90190

I have Studio version 17.2 build 11
Running on a Dell Inspiron.

The file I'm trying to bring into the media pool is 4.7mb. I tried to attach it here but got an error message that the maximum upload size to this site is 2mb. Bummer. But you can get the file from my google drive with this permissioned link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iVa9l0 ... sp=sharing

What exactly happens? Can you take a smartphone video of what happens and upload it unlisted to youtube?

I also had no issues.

Yes, I am using Windows 10 and have no idea why this same file loads for others.

The file is downloaded to a drive installed internally? You're not trying to import it from any kind of Shared Folder?
