Image Wipe in Color tab is flipped

If I grab a still... then play the still, the still is then flipped... so with the "horizontal" view selected (which actually makes a vertical line between the two shots) you see the same half of the shot mirrored. If I switch to the "vertical" view (which makes a horizontal line separating the two shots), the top half is the still and it is flipped, so it just looks like the sky portion of the image mirrored backwards versus the bottom half of the image which is straight. What is this, and how do you fix it because this is REALLY stupid.

thats not the normal state.

in color page, sizing palette, there is controls for reference sizing.. and H&V flip..
