Audio glitching on export

PostThu Jul 08, 2021 10:04 pm

Hello, I’m using DaVinci Resolve 17 Studio latest version 17.2.2
iMac Big Sur

When I Render / Export my 48min TV show, my audio is glitching, but it plays fine on my timeline in DaVinci Resolve editor.

I’m using R3D files, and I’ve tried h265 and h264 export, same issue but at different parts in the timeline. Also did 16bit and 24 bit audio, same issue.

Any help? I’ve seen others with similar issues with no solutions.

I'm experiencing same issue.
Playback while editing is fine, but when render/export to ProRes or H264, audio is clicking. In my case, at first of exported video file.

Same issue on two computers:
Davinci Resolve Studio 17.2.2, Mac Mini with eGPU. Mac OS Big Sur
Davinci Resolve Studio 17.2.2, MacBook Pro 2018. Mac OS Big Sur

Hello Jim,

Here it go: https://we.tl/t-xisZj8qVha
You can listen a click un first second.

I tested different options to export, and I noticed setting Render speed to 100 (not Max) and rendering 1 job instead various jobs on render queue, DaVinci exports fine.

Thank you very much!

Could be my ears aren't good enough, but...I'm not hearing any problems.

Played using PotPlayer on Windows 10, listening through Sennheiser HD 600 phones.

Hello Jim! Thank you for testing.

The truth is the click is soft, but it exists :) I'm playing on QuickTime (MacOs) and listening on Yamaha HS7 audio monitors. It occurs on second syllable of word "digitalizar" (spanish).

QuickTime (along with Windows Media Player) is one of the worst media players out there.

As a test, try using VLC. Report back.

Same issue using VLC Player. DaVinci exports bad audio.

I think audio driver configuration (buffer size) can be the cause of this issue. I will test different configs... and report back.

Thanks!

are you working with nested timelines/compound clips? Because those still have an amazing glitching feature.

Hello Rick,

No, that is not the problem. It happens with or without nested timelines or compound clips.

It always happens within the first second.

Running DaVinci 17.4.6 and still happening :(

MacBook Pro 2018, tested in two Focusrite audio interfaces (2i4 and 20i18)

Do you have any fusion clips in that timeline?
What about (3rd party) audio plugins?

Hi José Luis,

Happens here as well. The workaround that seems to work for us is to check the option "use fixed busing" in the Project Settings (under Fairlight) . This can only be done for new projects.

Are you by chance using Resolve in Spanish (the GUI) ? I noticed that people having this issue may have set the GUI language to other than English.
Could it be possible that some GUI language mistake may be messing up the internal behaviour of the program?

Hello Nucelar! I'm going to test checking that option. I'm using English language on Resolve.
Will it be resolved in version 18?
