Moving nodes in spline edit

PostWed Sep 15, 2021 9:34 am

Hi!

Is it possible to move these little node dots in spline edit mode straight to left or right? If I move them with mouse, even if pressing the SHIFT it always changes the parameters a little. And I don't want that. I want to keep the settings as they are but only move the timing to left/right.

I take this as there is no way to move these points the way I'm hoping. Or was my question unclear?

It should work with shift? Demo:

Be aware that in general the Edit keyframe controls are very inadequate and often don't work at all. For example, easing doesn't work at all on Position keyframes - it's always linear regardless of any curve in the spline.

Fusion is often the best bet if you want easing or want decent control over keyframes. The Fusion page's Spline Editor is a fantastic tool which offers vastly more power than the Edit page.

Shift R/L works, yes. But only after I first grab the point with just the mouse, then move it a little then press shift, and it locks horizontally. But that means the U/D parameters have already changed, and this is the problem I'm experiencing.

I value your effort of explaining this. Thank you very much. I think the fusion page is something I should use more.

I'm dealing with this too, you have to click and wait half a millisecond then press Shift and by then it has moved vertically a little bit. Is there a way to do this on the Edit page? it's so frustrating and I'm sick of the "just use Fusion" response, what's the point of an Edit page if you can't do basic stuff
