.MTS / AVCHD files import or convert-import-workflow into DR

PostMon Dec 14, 2020 11:20 am

I'm having problems importing files from an AVCHD archive.
Either imported as AVCHD or as .MTS files, they show squashed with two black bars on the sides.
Is there a way to import them successfully into DR? (16, pay for version, for the time being until finishing the current project)
If not, what is the best workflow to extract the best out of the files? I.e. in order for resolve to deal with interlace and de-interlacing, color information and so on?

If the pixel aspect ratio is misinterpreted, just go into Clip Attributes and try the other options.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Thank you Uli. You're a gentleman and a scholar! The aspect ratio cures choosing PAL 16:9.
Many thanks

After double checking, the correct one is DVCPRO HD.
It took some clicking here and there, but I would have never guessed where to look. Thank you Uli.

Thanks, this helped me on a similar situation, but did anyone ever figure out how to import these types of files without having to correct each clip?

Something in the project settings maybe?

TIA

You can change the attributes for more than one clip at the same time if you select them all and right-click>Clip Attributes.
