VST PlugIns change their order upon closing DaVinci

PostWed Oct 20, 2021 5:40 pm

Hi everyone,

I have added several third-party VST-Plugins (Waves Bundle, etc.) to clips in my timeline. When I close DaVinci and reopen it, the order of those VST-Plugins has changed.

I dont know why this happens. Do you have advice or a solution for this?

Thanks ;)

Assuming still on Windows 10? Most current 17.3.2 release?

Clip FX only or also Fairlight Mixer Inserts? Consistent behaviour or slightly sporadic?

Any specific Clip type? e.g. Compound Clips.

Hi Reynaud!

Still on Windows 10, most current release of DaVinci.

Clip FX only. Seems to be consisent behaviour with specific clips.

Some of them are compounded, some are not.

My workaround for now was to just do all the work on one day, export it as a WAVE and then go on without closing the program.

Just tried out a new workaround, that seems to solve the problem for now: I apply the vst-plugins in that order I prefer, then cache in audio effects in fairlight, close the program and reopen project, erase the cache and voila - it seems to stay in place in the order I choose. Not the finest way to do it I guess, but it works for now.

Do you have another idea?

Thanks and have a great day! :)
