Intel hardware accelerator Issue with new update 11/18/2021

PostFri Nov 19, 2021 1:38 am

My davinci Resolve right after the new update is now getting a error message that pops up on opening.

any fix for this will be very helpful as I was in a middle of a video project for a Cilent of mine.

Error Message Reads:

Intel hardware accelerated decode and encode have
been disabled as the current Intel graphics driver
is not compatible with DaVinci Resolve. Please update
your drivers to enable this feature.

Good evening, I also had the same problem and after updating the video card drivers, Da Vinci did not start anymore, I tried to reinstall it without any improvement. Eventually I had to reinstall version 17.4.1 and this works. Windows 10 operating system, Intel UHD Graphics 630.

Did you stay with 17.4.1? or did you update it afterwards?

Hi did anyone get this resolved?
Since latest updates to DaVinci Resolve (now 17.4.2 Build 9) I get the same error message on starting Resolve but Windows 10 updates can't find any update for the Intel Graphics Driver;

ASUS NitroAN515-52 Laptop
Windows 10.0.19044 Build 19044
Intel I7-8750H
Intel UHD Graphics 630
Driver : 25.20.100.65761

thanks

I had the same issue since 17.4.2
Win 10, RAM 16GB, GPU 8 GB and extremely slow. Was okay before.

I couldn't update the Intel graphics driver because my PC uses a customized driver version from Hewlett Packard.

I de-installed Resolve and installed the previous version 17.3.1, but that made no difference in performance, only the "Intel driver..." message didn't pop up.

Eventually I installed 17.2.1 Build 12, now it works fine again.

I am currently using version 17.4.1, I will wait for the release of version 14.4.3 before trying to update

Current Intel driver is 30.0.101.1069. That looks like you're five major revisions behind and countless minor ones.

First check the Asus website for a newer one. If they don't Google this

Intel® Driver & Support Assistant

But for laptops it's better to get the drivers from the laptop maker. Still at worst you can always go back to the older drivers if the current Intel drivers don't work with your system.

Does Resolve even support integrated graphics on the Intel family? That's pretty weak GPU territory.

Yes they work. I wouldn't want to use the IGPU for anything intensive but they can do simple edits. The big win is using the IGPU for decoding all the things that Nvidia doesn't hardware decode. That means you end up using both the IGPU and your GPU.

On my system I had to disable the iGPU because it clashes with my GTX card when working in 4K stuff.

Works fine with HD timelines but if I have both enabled for 4K then some kind of memory leak starts and the system uses all the available RAM then all the swapfile capacity before crashing -- in a matter of just a few seconds once the runwaway starts.

Weird.

Most of the IGPU driver updates are gaming related but every so often Intel releases one that mentions Resolve.

Try to disable the iGPU completely.
Don't approach Resolve with your expectations from other NLEs! They are all different.

Of course it does and it works great, look at this example when rendering UHD using QuickSync which provides the best render quality in short time (scoll down for GPU usage)

Just "me too"'ing here -- i7-4770K, HD 4600, and a GTX 1060, updated to the latest drivers from Intel website and still getting the error...

Update: the problem seems to be that older CPU/chipsets like mine can't update to the latest Intel drivers, but the resolve error dialog doesn't know that, so it keeps bugging you. Disabling the Intel card (in the device manager, under "display adapters") makes the error dialog go away.

I'm having the same issue now. I have an HP Spectre 360 laptop from 2017 and their are no updated drivers. I must use the ones from HP and not Intel. I hope Blackmagic fixes this issue.

I've just come back around to this and found what appears to be a solution; my issue is ACER specific but the Intel instructions are generic.

There's a support article on the INTEL website which explains the issue and work around.
Search for and read the webpage with this title;
"Article ID: 000056629 Content Type: Error Messages Last Reviewed: 11/15/2021 Error Message Appears When Installing Intel Graphics Driver 26.20.100.8141 or Newer"

My progress was;
I have installed Resolve 17.4.3 but I was still getting the error about the Intel Graphics Driver update required.
I tried the Intel Driver & Support Assistant and that did not work, no driver update but a message that my machine has an OEM driver installed and updates should come from the manufacturer; ACER. But there isn't a display driver update available from ACER.
Downloading the latest driver from INTEL also does not install directly, another message about no driver for my device.
Following the instructions in the Intel article above has resulted in Intel Display Driver v30.0.101.1191 now installed and no more start-up errors with Resolve.v17.4.3.

My DaVinci Resolve Studio in Version 17.4.3 Build 10 right after installation has an error message that pops up on opening.

Error Message:

Intel hardware accelerated decode and encode have
been disabled as the current Intel graphics driver
is not compatible with DaVinci Resolve. Please update
your drivers to enable this feature.

I have a Lenovo T440 S and have checked the Intel Driver Support Assistant.
Their is no update for the Driver or Software available.

How can I get rid of the problem ?
