Traditionally all "YUV" (Y-Cb/Cr) media was expected to be encoded in "legal" 16-235, and all RGB media, mostly 12bit, was expected to be encoded "full" 0-255.
In Avid though, DNx 4444 can be RGB-12 bit and either full or legal.
Any properly set monitor should handle both correctly, displaying both as 0-255. One should have their monitors set for auto as far as full/legal are concerned. That way, it all works.
So ... good question, but with that format and codec, it might depend ... on other things. It will be interesting to see other replies.
