USB capture dongle prevents Resolve 17 from opening

I've tested this on three different machines now, and the now-ubiquitous USB capture dongles with USB vid 534d and pid 2109 will consistently prevent Resolve from opening. I've tried on two machines running Studio, and one running the free version.

I'm doing lots of work from home, and I'm doing lots of video meetings with my clients. These little dongles have been really handy to use better cameras as a webcam.

On the first two machines I tried, the rackmount system and the Lenovo laptop, Resolve will display the splash screen, and make it partway through loading modules before crashing without an error message.

On the third machine, Edit Suite, it gave me the option to submit a crash report, which I did, mentioning that I will be submitting this report to the forum as well.

I haven't tried Resolve 16 to see if it will behave any differently.

Thanks for your help! Aside from this, I am loving 17, and I'm working on moving away from other editing software entirely.

You might try removing the USB dongles until after Resolve 17 has fully launched and then insert them. USB devices other than keyboards or mice have frequently been reported as interfering with Resolve. It is one of the first troubleshooting steps usually suggested.

Done. No messages from Resolve, USB capture dongle works.

The next beta after I posted this topic resolved the issue for me on all 3 machines. Are you still seeing problems?
