[DRS v17.4.3] Clarification on exporting HEVC only

PostTue Jan 11, 2022 6:55 pm

Good morning.
I ask an ignorant question on HEVC codec profiles.
I performed an upscaling test in 4K HDR, setting the Export section with NVIDIA encoder in this way:

The video card is a GeForce RX2070, then with MediaInfo I checked the file obtained and I noticed that the Format Profile section is "MAIN10@L5.2@high".
Now my question is why I can't get level 5.1 as from UHD standards and what is the difference with 5.2?
Thank you very much

Can't choose other levels?
Thank you

I think it has to be Main10 for HDR.

MAIN 10 has been selected, as shown in the screen is that I cannot select the levels.
This is an example of another tool, where this is possible, in the Export section of DaVinci is absent.

This thread finally helped me to configure my Deliver page to directly output HDR HEVC content that would work with a Samsung tv. The missing item was Main 10 in the encoder. Previously, I had to export an intermediate file like DNxHR or Cineform and use Handbrake to make a workable HDR HEVC file,
Thanks

DaVinci resolve is the king of video editing and processing, but for exporting I prefer third party (Free) like StaxRip which is very flexible with both NVEnc (via hardware GPU) and x265 (via software CPU), I manage to get the same UHD standard
