Smart rendering doesn't notice changes

PostThu May 12, 2022 1:25 pm

For some things, smart rendering doesn't realise a change has been made, the two I've noticed so far or turning proxies on and off where you won't see the difference until you delete the cache (or quickly zoom in and out)
and text, where with smart rendering on, the old text will display over the new text in the text box until you delete the render cache

Anyone else noticed this when using the smart render?

Smart Render in Resolve is called Bypass re-encode when possible, and is found in the Advanced Settings of the Video tab on the Deliver page.

Are you referring to that, or to the Smart setting for Cache (which is not the same as Smart Rendering)?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I don't use Proxies, so I can't speak on that, but the Cache for a title will be nullified as soon as you make a change.

The titles aren't proxied so if that's how it should work then it doesn't appear to be.
My titles Cache stays but a new one is overlayed over the top :(

Aah it happened again today finally, you can see here it smart rendered the old 'video subtitles will go here' and left it along with the new one if you scroll to the subtitles at the bottom of the image
