Normalize Audio not working anymore

Hi
Recently when I try to normalize the audio nothing happens anymore.
Regardless of what type of normalization I choose - once I hit the normalize button the window closes and nothing happens.

Anybody else has had this happen?

Resolve 17.3 build 14

Neither Normalisation Mode nor Target Level preferences applying to the selected Clip or range of Clips?

The Normalise Audio Level function is behaving as expected on my macOS systems.

Worked for me too when I tested just now.

However I did run into an issue a month or so ago (17.2.2) where Normalize Audio did nothing at all, as OP described - UI just closed immediately, no audio changed.

It seemed to be something to do with my going back and forward between Fairlight and Edit, and/or related to something I'd done on Fairlight. I thought at the time it might be related to my having used Edit Selection Mode on Fairlight, as that's what I'd just been doing.

But I could never re-create it after that.

Does the problem persist across restarts of Resolve?

The problem does persist after restarting.

But that does remind me that I've installed an accusonos plugin recently maybe that's the culprit.

For me, it only works if I select one or a few clips.
If I select many clips, it works after several attempts.

I have the same issue in Davinci 17.4.3 in Monterey. It's working on the previous version before, but after i upgrade to new version of Davinci and revert back to the previous version, its no longer works.

It has stopped working on my Windows 11 desktop as well.

Perhaps there are factors I'm unaware of but I found that even on 15.3 "normalise" was pretty hit and miss. Sometimes it would work (and change the shading of the audio track) and sometimes it would do nothing.

I also note that Normalise doesn't reduce the levels in a clip that is too loud but (when it's working) it does raise the level of one that's too quiet.

Am I misunderstanding how the normalise function is supposed to work?

It’s not working for me in DR18. I used it all the time. Any work around? I’m on pc windows 11, studio version.

It's working fine here with all choices in the menu.

Bruce, you can indeed reduce the level of an audio track with normalize. Just add a minus DBFS value to normalize the level downwards.

I was editing and tried normalize again and now it works! I had chosen sample peak and nothing happened but then I chose True Peak and it worked, I then tried sample peak and it works. Go figure.

Aah....the vagaries of computers and software.

Same issue here. Very odd behavior. I could get it to work by clicking normalize via Fairlight however. But no joy on the edit page.

Anyone ever found the fix to this? Only fairlight normalizes for me. I'm on Windows 11 and it happens across projects: no normalizing in the edit page.
