Masks in the color workspace

Where do you apply masks in Davinci Resolve? To the input of the node (the masked part of the image is given to the processing), or to the output (the processing is covered by the mask)?
Is it possible to control this process? Change the position of the mask.

A mask is limiting processing to its area, so connect it to the input.
Masks (aka Power Windows) can be combined, tracked and animated.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Visually, it's at the node on the input, yes.
But if, as you write, it limits the work to its area, in fact, it kind of covers the working area of the work. That is, in fact, it sits on the output. Do I understand the answer correctly?

I am aware of the combinations of masks. key mixer etc.

For color ops, mask is applied as a mix factor for linearly intepolating each pixel between processed result and unprocessed node input. It doesn’t ”cover” the input or output so there is no before or after application of mask. It is either applied or not.
I do stuff.
