Resolve render freezes the computer (PC)

PostMon May 09, 2022 6:03 pm

Hello everybody. Resolve Studio freezes the computer when I try to render. No matter the format or the project, it always freezes the computer. I have to restart the computer using the power or reset button.

I tried to reinstall Windows 10, I updated to Resolve 18, I even updated my GPU to NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 and I have tried many versions of Drives.

If I try to render any format (DPX, H264, DNXHR) the computer crashes after a few seconds.

I also tried lowering the render speed to 10, same problem.

Can anyone give any suggestions please?

Thanks!

Could it be that your power supply cant provide all the power needed for the GPU when Resolve exercises it fully?

i was thinking the same: either overheating the CPU, the GPU or not enough power.

1) get one of the little apps that measure the temperature and see where it goes.
2) try to blow out all the dust from the heat sinks
3) see if you can measure the power of the PSU somehow and see if it is enough.
