glitches on files rendered on Windows and viewed on Mac

PostThu Jun 23, 2022 8:37 pm

Hi - I am on DR 17 on Windows. I have rendered MOV files for someone to edit on a Mac (FCP). However, on the Mac, all the files have glitches all through them - but play fine on Windows??

Doesn’t compute.
My internal CPU needs more information about the target hardware, resolution and codec.
The software may be free, but the hardware needed for smooth performance is not.

Resolve Studio 17.4.6 , MacOS 12.3.1
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM

Think I found the problem. In the Video tab of the Render settings, under Advanced Settings, I unchecked "Bypass re-encode when possible" (seems to be checked by Default). Now MP4 and MOV files rendered on Windows will play glitch-free on Mac!

Thanks for posting that finding, might be very helpful for others, since nobody would expect this.
And then, BM should look into this.
The software may be free, but the hardware needed for smooth performance is not.
