Resizing my clip crops it!

PostSat Jul 02, 2022 12:45 am

I have an image I shot on the Ursa Mini 4.6k, in vertical mode - ie I turned the camera on its side.

I am trying to colour correct in Davinci.

I created a timeline that is 4608 × 2592

I added the clip to the timeline. It shows up small and sideways.

In the inspector, I rotate the clip -90 degrees. Great.

Then I Zoom the clip to fill the frame, but when it gets about halfway, it keeps zooming but it's like it's in a window - the image zooms but it gets cropped to a certain size, no matter how much I zoom! What is happening?

See attached video...

Moreover, why isn't the video the same size as the timeline anyway? They have the same dimensions.

If you are using the free version, the Project Settings can't go above 3840x2160. Try setting both the Project Settings resolution and the timeline resolution to 3840x2160.

Thanks, xunile. That solved it.

I couldn’t actually do 4k vertical even, just a regular wide 4k was max size. When I created a vertical sequence it cropped the image at 2160 high again.
