Sure crash?

PostMon Aug 08, 2022 6:34 am

I have been conforming an xml from Premier. It has dissolves that extend ahead of the clip as I have seen before when doing same. They annoy me despite not seeming to be any hindrance so I tend to extend the clip back and replace the dissolve. So, I did a dumb thing: I selected the dissolve and right clicked and then backspaced: crash. I repeated it just to see. Yep.

I can't reproduce this. The transition just goes away.

Studio 18.0.1 on Windows 10.

With the context menu still active?
Hilight the transition with a right click. Backspace.

It happens across projects so I am not sure a .drp will be helpful.
I realise that it is an action that is unlikely - I was being a klutz.
I also notice that the boot after crash behaviour seems to have changed. It now boots straight back to a project but not the one I was working on. I have noticed this on a number of crashes.

No issue on my Mac laptop, running 18.01... but on my (Windows 10) PC, running 17.4.3, it causes Resolve to immediately hang.

I put a Right Lower Third Title on V2. I put a Video Transition Additive Dissolve at the beginning of the title clip and extended it out so it looks like your screen video. I put the playhead over it. I right clicked the dissolve to have the right click menu options up. I pressed the backspace key. The dissolve goes away. No crash.

I repeated with the Blur and Cross Dissolves. I repeated with the Delete key. In all cases, the dissolve goes away. No crash.

This was with Windows 10 with Resolve Studio 18.0.1 and an RTX8000 GPU on an HD 23.976 timeline.

This is why we'd like a drp, in case there is something else we are not reproducing that you are doing.

Thank you.

On the off chance that the XML is.. eccentric, can you include a copy of the XML when sharing the DRP and logs that others have requested?
