Adjustment Clips & Anim Curves

PostTue Aug 09, 2022 8:46 am

In version 18 Adjustment Clips they have been slightly changed.
Previously dropped directly from the Effects palette, the Adjustment Clip had a timecode 01:00:00:00, now it has 00:00:00:00.
This is a very good change, but it works incorrectly with the Fusion effects that are animated with Animation Curves.
Effects animated with Anim Curves are completely responsive and automatically adapt to the length of the clip.
Currently, when we extend the clip to the left, the effects are not working as they should due to the fact that in Fusion, Start TC it is negative
The problem is only with effects animated with animation curves, so the bug is rather on their side.

Could be me, but I don't see any difference.

I'm not sure if I would classify it as a bug. I never extend Adjustment clips to the left since the frames go negative. Drag the clip to the left and then drag out the right side for length.

Yes, this is a workaround that I suggest to my clients.
However, in my opinion, Anim Curves should be responsive in any situation.

I would see Eric's suggestion as SOP more than a "work around".

Additionally, changing this behavior was highly requested. I don't see it going back.

You got me wrong, I don't want the Adjustment Clips to be changed, just a bug in the Anim Curves modifier has been fixed.

Release of DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.1.2
• Addressed an issue when trimming some comps with anim curves.

Thank you Blackmagic :)
