Fairlight and muffling

PostFri Aug 19, 2022 6:01 pm

I have a problem with some of the audio in Fairlight getting 'muffled.'

It ONLY occurs when going from one track to another. Such as Track 1 speaker ends and Track 2 speaker begins. And the really irritating thing is that it doesn't ALWAYS happen and I can seem to find a rhyme or reason as to why it happens in some places and doesn't happen in others.

What happens as that the first few lead in seconds of Track 2 will sound muffled.

Been trying to solve this for the better part of a month. I've taken off any fadeups on track 2. I've disabled AFX and rendered, reenabled and rendered.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

All of the dialogue was recorded separately and synced. All was recorded at same rates.

Effects that often "take time" to fully kick in, like NR, is the only idea I have.

But rendering those effects should have solved the issue.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Are the plugins instantiated across Track inserts or as Clip effects?

By which method are you disabling the plugins?

Almost always on tracks. Because they were all individual recorded in a controlled environment. There all a series of interviews done with different individuals.

Mainly by toggling the effect off. I'll give a go at deleting the entire effect see if that works.
