Colour Management - Apple ProRes 422

Hi. I am setting up Color Management for DR 18.
I have shot a series of clips from my Iphone 13 Pro Max and want to colour correct them.
Can any one tell me what Codecs have Apple ProRes and DNxHR HQX been transcoded from so I can choose the correct Input Colour Space.

I don't know what you mean with "been transcoded from". Are the source files transcoded to ProRes? I knowthat an iPhone can shoot ProRes by itself.

You can use Media Info to doublecheck a file's color space tags if you're unsure.

The iPhone will have shot either in Rec.709 or in HDR Rec.2020/HLG. It's also easy to tell if you look at the file without management and it looks pale, more greenish and a bit flat. If it looks normal it's Rec.709.

I don't know what you mean with "been transcoded from".

From the BMD video, he means the transcoding from raw to ProRes that takes place within the iPhone software.

There is no Input Color Space option for iPhone in the DVR list so best bet is to experiment with various options and see what works best. How you go depends on whether you shot Rec.709 or HLG with the iPhone as well as how you want to output the files (HDR or SDR or both if HLG - good luck with that)
