Show what bin a searched-for clip is in?

PostSun Nov 27, 2022 2:57 am

Is there any way to open/reveal the bin or bins in which a clip is located when you use the search function to find the clip in the media pool?

For example: I search for "Pelican" in all bins. 10 clips appear. I'd like to know in which bin a particular clip is located.

Sure: right-click and "Reveal in Explorer/Finder".
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Is bin name one of the optional columns in the details view on the media page?

Sorry, I typed too fast, you asked for bins, not folders. My bad.
Bins are not in the optional columns, but you could use Comments, Description or most of the other metadata.

I did not find anything Out of the box BUT
You can double the clip in the search result set, double click on it to open it
Go to menu , Clip, Find Clip in Media Pool

If a Timeline is retuned as search, double click on it, Go to Mentu , Timeline, Find current timeline in Media Pool

Hope this helps.

Thanks. That helps.

I now see that "find clip in media pool" appears in the clip menu but not the right-click pop up menu...
