Cannot install version 18.1.1

PostSat Nov 26, 2022 11:35 pm

For several days, I've tried different ways to install the DaVinci Resolve Studio version 18.1.1. All of them failed due to this error:

"the file ..\resolveinstaller.msi is not a valid installation package for the product DaVinci Resolve"

Looked up on the internet for solutions but not much found. I was exhausted by now. DaVinci Resolve had released update very often and so far I didn't have any problem to install until now.

Any advice would much appreciated.

Oanh.

What is the full filename of the installer file you downloaded? Are you right-clicking and running the installer ‘as administrator’?

I assume you tried downloading it again.
And if not, then you should.

Are you are downloading the installer from the BMD website and not some other source?

I already tried downloading multiple times on few days. Of course from the official BMD website.

As Steve suggested, this morning I ran the DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_18.1.1_Windows.exe as administrator.

Same error happens with this screenshots in attachment jpg

Make sure you download the installer to a local HD and run it from there (as near to the C:\ root as possible so that there is no issue with long drive paths). You can't run an installer from a network drive, btw - not sure if this applies but it sounded like it in the first screen grab.

Thank you Steve,

Everything I did was in my local PC, no network drive involved.
The drive letter N: as you saw that was just one of many internal Sata HDDs on my local PC of total 11 disks. The C: drive was just the operation system and software installations. The N:/Tmp was just a temporary storage specified in environment variables.
