How does 18.1 Collaborative Timeline Locks work? Or do they?

PostWed Nov 30, 2022 8:35 pm

[EDIT: I'm using BMD Cloud collaboration, not local, so maybe that's the confusion]

Resolve 18.1 supposedly added a new feature for collaborative workflows, "Timeline Lock", and according to the user guide, it's this option:

Lock Timeline

When you first create a timeline, the available option is to "unlock timeline" but there's no locked icon on it:

I don't know what this state even is… because if I don't do anything at all, anyone can edit it. If I unlock then lock it again, it gets this icon:

locked status

But then, others can still edit it, and when I exit and go back into that project, the lock is gone.

So, uh, is this just broken??

I was also looking for an answer to this, and I found only this post.
Any updates?

By the way PhotoJoseph, I think it's just a bug and it doesn't work, if you lock any timeline inside bins though the lock seems to work correctly.

So.. UP I guess?

Disabling the timeline is a sure way to lock it, which is what I've been doing.
