Screen Flicker w/mouse movement (update)

PostMon Dec 05, 2022 10:09 pm

I have a bit of an issue, as the title suggest, with my screen flickering in Resolve when my mouse moves.

* Today I noticed a detail that may help you - help me - understand what's going on. :)

1: There is absolutely NO screen flicker moving the mouse when there is no media.
2: I import media, it Only flickers when I move mouse over the media in the import window.
(not in the timeline - where nothing is yet)
3: Put footage in - and it flickers, essentially everywhere

I'm dealing with an Asus laptop with an HD monitor, editing 4k footage from a Lumix S5
(4096 x 2160) - played with settings, but must be hitting the wrong ones, as it seems this has something to do with it.

Thanks

Which GPU and how much VRAM?
Don’t approach DR with your preconceptions from another NLE.
Many features are better, some worse, most are different.

Resolve Studio 18.1.2, MacOS 12.6.2
MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GPU cores, 32 GB RAM
and
iMac 2017, Radeon 580, 32 GB RAM

You didn't answer about VRAM. If it's less than 8 GB, it could be tight for 4K/UHD timelines.
But also check your GPU driver. Get it from the manufacturer of the GPU, not from M$.

Yeah, I always update through GeForce.
As for VRAM - have no idea how much.

* It is a gaming computer, so it should be good.

Looked at task manager and the 'about' page (latter useless) :P

Thanks for the input

If you want to know about your GPU and what it's doing, use GPU-Z (free).
