Latest windows 11 update.

PostTue Jan 24, 2023 6:18 am

I noticed after the latest windows 11 update, no matter what value I set for AAC bitrate, the output file produced is 128k. In tracking this down, I installed a fresh boot drive and a fresh unupdated version of Windows 11 and the option worked as normal. Apply all windows 11 updates so the install was current and the 128k output file issue returned. I guess it's a niche issue at the moment, but it stops me dead in my tracks. My output MUST be at least 512k by contract. As more people migrate to windows 11, it's going to affect more and more people. I wish I had a restore point to back to, but I'm going to have to burn the current install and start over again, preventing whatever update kills this section of Resolve. Has anyone else run into this? Were you able to find a workaround?

I can't go over 192 for AAC. Been that way since I started with Resolve at version 12. In fact...

As Jim says, the maximum AAC bitrate in MP4 has always been 192Kb/s in Resolve. The only way around this is to render to a codec such as DNxHD/HR and do your final MP4 in something like Shutter Encoder or Handbrake.

I guess that's true if you're rendering audio in Stereo. I'm rendering in 5.1 which doesn't have that limit.
