frequent crashes since latest update-unusable

Dunno why but the latest update is crappy. Perhaps you want to change the file size limit for attachment as my diagnostics log didn't upload here, to 2-3 mb.

It's a LOT less effort than pretty much anything you do to produce a finished film or video.

So unless you can find a way to finish your project without that effort...

I am in the same boat and I just purchased the studio version. I've tried rendering in 1080 as opposed to 4K. I have 2 16x9 pictures in the timeline that I am going to removed and try next. But I just can't seem to figure out why it crashes all the time.

I realize that the Nvidia card should have 12 GB of memory. But I haven't ever had the crashing problem before and I have only worked on 2k and 4k videos.

To add to this, it's to your benefit to post your logs. I am finding 18.1.2 very stable on my MacBook Pro. Could be an issue with the latest update using more memory or it could be that your 16 GB of RAM is simply not enough to run Resolve. The logs might give some clues to BMD.

I tell Resolve specifically not to use more than 9gb in the settings, so it is just bad programming (reduced from 11 since this downgrade). Plz fix BM

You can always hope. My guess is that Resolve needs more RAM to do its job than the minimum you are specifying. Maybe BMD support will chime-in here with some suggestions assuming you've already read the FAQ section that explains what the support staff will require from you in order to address the bug.

what I mean is that they should facilitate that by making their file limits in line with their logs.

To the OP, are you still experiencing issues with 18.1.2

I am on the first 18 version 18.0.1 and am thinking its time to finally upgrade now that my edit is completed for my project. I'm swayed by the Noise cancelling feature in 18.1 but seeing a few are experiencing issues, I thought I'd check first before diving in.

Yes, still. seems like they hiked allowed memory usage without proper protocols limiting this, or something like that. so memory runs full and crashes.
