media not importing free DR 18.1.2 Mac Studio Monterey

PostMon Jan 30, 2023 8:52 pm

Hi All,

I recently upgraded my system to a Mac Studio 2022 M1 Max, running OS 12.5.1 and updated my free version of Resolve to 18.1.2.

Unfortunately nothing will import via the command I , file>import>media , or drag and drop.

The select window will open and I can find a file and hit 'open', but nothing happens after that.

I've been able to open previous projects and those files play and I can edit, but nothing new is importing. I've tried MOV, MP4s, jpegs, and AIF files.... All types and exact files that worked fine previously on my old iMac running the free DR 17.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Joe

Did you give DR full access rights to your storage?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

Ha, wow. First new Mac in many years. What other obvious and simple changes await me around the next bend. Thanks for this help, very much appreciated

Apple seems to work a lot on safety to get a better share in corporations and administration.
It can be a PITA at first, but you only got to tell the OS once: "Yes, I trust this software."
