Speed Editor Doesn't Work via Bluetooth (Windows 11)

PostTue Jan 04, 2022 8:47 pm

I've been searching other posts but haven't yet seen a solution so I'm wondering if I've missed it.

My speed editor has not worked via bluetooth in quite some time now. Works via cable. I've removed and re-paired it multiple times. Usually it gets an error the first time then pairs on next attempt. Completely unresponsive in Resolve. I'm on Windows 11. Has anyone found a solution for this? Keeping it tethered is just not a good options for me in my setup so for the moment, it's a paper weight. Thanks!

Has it never worked with this hardware (Windows 10 or 11)? Have you tried buying a cheap Bluetooth USB dongle? Perhaps it is a signal strength issue with the location of the built-in Bluetooth antenna or the version of Bluetooth supported by the built-in Bluetooth?

No it used to work fine. Then at some point (likely after one of the updates, I can't remember which) it just stopped.

from windows 10, maybe this trick works in 11:

open windows bluetooth devices, and remove speed editor if it is already paired (and doesn't work)

open resolve, and connect with usb-c, now keboard works.

close resolve, remove usb-c

now back in windows bluetooth devices, find and pair the speed editor.

now again open resolve, and it works by bluethooth.

it works... but ... takes some effort

Sadly didn't work. When I went to re-pair, I once again got an error on first try and then connected on 2nd try (as always happens now) but then in Resolve it's totally unresponsive still via BT. Thanks for trying though!

same here, worked fine for short time with BT. Somehow it suddenly stopped, without a major update by Windows. The lights on de speed editor starts to light when Resolve is opened, so there is something of a connection, but all keys are non responsive.
I tried everything that was mentioned above and also did a reset (cut+smth cut / shtl+scrl)

Use by cable is fine and I have the latest firmware, which is confirmed by the davinci control software

I think using multiple bleutooth usb devices might be the problem

I also have a BT mouse with dedicated USB bleutooth.
in the end it is radio in the aame frequency, which can conflict, is what I feel.

I stopped using BT, usb cable wirks fine.
