Resolve 17 Work Around for ARRI RAW LOG-C_v4

PostTue Feb 07, 2023 6:36 pm

Hello All,

I am in the middle of a project that is using Resolve 17.4.6.

I have read that this version of the software doesn't support the Arri 35, RAW Log-C_v4 file type. Does anyone have a rock solid work around for this limitation. Please don't suggest upgrading to DVR18, that is not an option for us at this time.

Thank you,
--DaVinci Resolve Studio (17.4.6 BUILD 4)
--CentOS Linux 7
--Intel Xeon (r) CPU E5-2698 v4 @ 2.20GHz x 58
--125.8 GiB
--GeForce RTX 2080ti x3 (Driver Version 418.56)
--Gnome Version 3.14.2

Convert the files to ProRes using an external tool like this one:

Or install v18 on another computer and convert there.

If you can upgrade to 17.4.7 (or later) it should work:

You're right, they reference a non-existent version.

can you put resolve 18 on a spare machine and decode EXR/Prores out of that one?

We ended up using another machine with v18. Just a bummer we can't keep the native file format in 17. Thanks to everyone for the help.

Where i work we tend to debayer somewhere else and push EXRs for features and use native for TV.

There are advantage and disadvantage in both, I can work with both (I’m used to)… Native are nice, but most often than not the geometry is an issue (AAF/XML does not translate properly)
