Problem with markers

PostTue Mar 21, 2023 11:17 am

I want to set markers to every detected bar. I go through timeline frame by frame and mark my "sweet points". The interesting and annoying thing is that marking goes all the time one frame before current cursor position. Isn't it strange? look at attached pictures

My understanding is that markers can only be placed exactly at frame boundaries. If you attempt to place a marker at a point that is not on a frame boundary then your marker will be placed instead at the preceding frame boundary. Hence the behaviour you are seeing.

Thank you Andy for your reply. But as I can see on attached screenshots, the cursor moves between frames, but the marker goes exactly one frame before....mysterious...

That doens't happen here on my machine, Anatoliy. Using the arrow keys to step between frames I can lay markers exactly at frame boundaries, exactly per CTI position. Have you slipped your audio at a subframe level (by nearly a full frame)? Thats the only way I can think of to force such behaviour.

I captured my screen so I can illustrate the problem better https://babiychuk.com/docs/test.mp4

Looks to me like you have your timescale set to Bars and Beats and you're snapping your CTI movement to that timescale ... not to frame boundaries. Per my original reply, if you try to drop a marker at a point between frame boundaries then the marker will instead be placed at the preceding frame boundary.
