Studio 18.1.4 Render Encoder

PostWed Mar 29, 2023 2:49 pm

I have not used the program for awhile. I updated to the current version and now on the render page, I can no longer select the Nvidia gpu for rendering. Before it was on the list, but now it is gone and none of the choices use the card. Nvidia Activity monitor shows that Resolve.exe is using the card.

Is there a setting I am now supposed to change to use the Nvidia gpu for rendering?

Thank you!
Dave

It sounds like you may have installed the free version by mistake. If you click on About Resolve it should say Studio.

Thanks for the thought, Charles. I updated through the app and the about screen shows Studio.

Did you check those settings for Memory and GPU in the preferences?
Try to install a fresh driver directly from Nvidia with a clean install.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

I did not re-install the driver, but it was working perfectly before the update. Everything seems to be set correctly and Resolve sees and uses the Nvidia card... Except not available for rendering like it was before the update.

Strange. This is what I see.

As I don't have Intel Quick Sync that doesn't show as an option. It may be worth while reinstalling Resolve to see if that makes a difference.

Your view is what I used to see (or close).

I have no idea what Intel Quick Sync is. I've not seen that before. In another Resolve Pref, there is mention of it and it was checked. I unchecked it, re-started Resolve, but there was no difference.

Maybe the devs know what "Intel Quick Sync" is and why Resolve seems to have latched on to it?

Intel Quick Sync seems to be a rendering engine. Resolve is listed as compatible. I'm not sure how it got added to my pc though. Maybe a Windows update.
