Davinci Resolve 18 Free choppy on decent hardware

PostSat Apr 01, 2023 5:18 am

Ryzen 9 7900x
RTX 3060
32gb RAM
2 TB NVME I do not remember the exact speed but it was over 5000mb/s
I have been checking the temperature and it is not thermal throttling,
I used to use an M1 mac pro to edit videos and never had an issue with playback, basic cuts, and color grading. I decided to upgrade because I wanted to start doing more. I have the maximum allowed memory limits, GPU processing mode, and GPU selection on. I am in the free version and have all the decode options activated. I do not know how is my basic m1 pro way better than the ryzen 9 and rtx 3060. I am monitoring task manager as I edit to see if some other program is taking resources, but I cannot find anything. Is this a limitation of the free version? it has never been this bad even in older hardware

Note: I did check that drivers, bios, and OS are up to date, along with some other stuff the motherboard software is asking to update. These are mostly wifi, Bluetooth and other drivers
