Audio Track Panning in exported .MXF

PostFri May 26, 2023 5:38 pm

Hello,

I am finished with a project and the delivering format is: MXF OP1A AVCIntra 1080 Class100
Audio should be 10 Mono Tracks
01 Main Mix left
02 Main Mix right
03 international Mix left
04 international Mix right
05 Music left
06 Music right
07 SFX left
08 SFX right
09 Voice Over left
10 Voice Over right

My Problem is, when I export (set to "Render one track per channel" and "All Timeline Tracks" selected) and import again, the panning that I did in my mixer before exporting is gone.
So all the 10 Channels are set to the middle.

Can somebody help me how to achieve the right output file?

Curious about this myself.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Only the IMF preset on the deliver page (Audio tab) provides MCA Content and Element Kind definitions and assigns relevant audio channel numbering based on MCA sound field groups.

Your output file is correct.

Mono output channels cannot contain panning information. It is up to the receiving organisation (or software) to map the channels to left and right busses for monitoring. This is standard industry practice as mono by definition has no panning information.
