Intel projects crashes under M1 Monterey

PostTue May 30, 2023 1:59 pm

Dear Forum,

my projects from old Intel-MacBookPro crash now under Monterey M1 MacBookPro 16" 2022. DaVinci 18.1.4. Build 9

- I get the macOS error message (to send a report)
- I reopen the App and create a report
- I get the message "Diagnostic Log Failed - the log-file could not be created. Please try again." But I found one on my desktop.

The log-file:

Thank you for any help.

That’s weird. I move projects back and forth between an Intel iMac and an M1 laptop all the time.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

I waited for a DaVinci update (did not fix it) and a Monterey Update (neither).... and I don't know what to do. I could re-create everything - not.

Tried to get some data out of the log, there are 2 manufactures of audio plugins listed (Native Instruments and BlueCat). Don't use them in DaVinci.

Put them somewhere where they are not seen by the program.
Could be the problem.

Found the issue: Super Scale.

What? I set my clip (720 (DVD)) to 2x super scale. Clicked on "Deliver". App crashes.
Next? Re-Open the project, click anywhere in the timeline or play = crash.
Session starts? I can re-do the super scale = it's stable again.

But! The older Intel-MacBookPro session had the same issue, but here I am unable to start the session to make super scale bypass. :(

Any help?

Still no idea, SuperScale works for me both on my Intel iMac and the M1 laptop.
Even the new enhanced version, but dead slow on Intel and still slow on M1. But I’m using it on 1080 sources.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, Uli.

Will search if there's a chance to avoid these crashes by deleting playlists/ preferences in the Library or whatever.
