[bug] Fairlight silently reroutes/disables audio inputs

PostThu Apr 20, 2023 10:16 am

After opening another program (Adobe Audition) to externally record audio because Fairlight gives clicks and pops, It was not possible anymore to enable record in Fairlight.

Apparently Fairlight silently re-patches audio inputs when not looking..... :o

Which should mean it probably lets go of ASIO priority or something and quietly switches to another audio driver temporarily. That would be my guess.

While recording a TEMP voice over with countless clicks and pops I changed the hardware buffer size of the RME RayDAT DSP settings and then too fairlight silently removed the patching.

Recordings disappear after stop. No other DAW has any problems with buffer size change. Fairlight has a very long way to go before it is anything close to usable.

Otherwise I love Resolve. I really hope Fairlight gets better soon.

Still happens in 8.5.

Open another audio program and POOF Fairlight settings have changed.

Is exclusive mode enabled in Windows settings?

I had to look that up, but yes it is enabled. Resolve clearly doesn't use the exclusive mode, which is why this happens I assume. I can't find if this can be changed by the user for an induvial program (Resolve).
