I'm trying again to render a full feature DCP, and Resolve has another problem under the M1 macs Why rendering 4K scope movies, Kakadu and easydcp both render DCPs with the video showing an XYZ color space frame every second er so. Very consistently. 2k Scope is renders fine, oddly enough. Intel macs, is fine.
This is only for 4k Scope under M1 Ultra or M1 mac Mini computers using 18.5 v2 or v3. (haven't tried v1)
I'm on Monterey using an M1 Ultra. This issue also is on a M1 Mini mac using Big Sur. Apparently this a Resolve issue. Even EasyDCP knows of this.
DID FIND AN ANSWER for at least a temporary fix: Instead of a 4k Scope timeline all around, I make the timeline 2k, but render 4k So..
4K Footage Make settings a 2K DCI scope timeline Fill the image with the movie as normal. Export 4k dci scope timeline. Now it works. Hopefully BM will FIX THIS PLEASE.
It is normal that the image is being shown in XYZ while rendering a DCP. The DCP will be shown correctly with the right equipment, so it does not matter what you see while rendering it.
What you are doing now is down-scaling the 4K source files to 2K and then that to 4K, meaning you lose a lot of resolution. So not recommended. Keep the timeline here at the same 4K resolution you will render the DCP as, for instance 4K DCI Flat.
