I could easily see myself buy a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, as a replacement for my current Galaxy Note10+. The 512GB Ultra has some usable features, and currently is discounten up to the Tune of 20-30% depending on reseller. The best part is “backup”.
My old Note10+ (also 512GB) easily “digests” 256GB from my 256GB UHSII cards with a speed of 200-250 MB/sec from my old (short built-in cable, small, flat) SanDisk dedicated UHSII SD card Reader. On walkabouts and travels in “suspect surroundings - especially in rich people quarters”

it’s nice to have a “running backup”, should my LUMIX S5 or Canon EOS 90D suddenly switch owner or decide to go overboard on a ferry.
Even good, tested memory cards from reputable manufacturers give up serving bits from time to time in any odd place without prior permission given (I’ve had a few cases, since my first in Singapore in 2007, that nearly cost… taught me a lot really quick

Aaand sometimes it really is down to smartphone or no image/video, when the unexpected turns up (or camera battery is flat, or your Canon DSLR displays the feared Error 99 or… or…)
If the next iPhone 15 Pro something-or-other turns up in EU and other region specific models, demanding Apple cables to deliver high transfer speed in addition to charging over USB-C, my iPhone 12 Pro will be the last iPhone. I’m not letting Apple decide, that my perfectly good Thunderbolt certified cables - accepted by my MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon - are not to be used to the maximum potential with next gen Apple iPhone.
I wouldn’t put it past Apple to try that approach!
