Flaky cursor b4

PostSat Jun 24, 2023 2:22 am

Seeing odd cursor behavior in beta 4. Frequently, the cursor still will stay as the window sizing tool. More problematic is the inability to select the playhead bar or a keyframe. Have a couple of mp4 files that show the behavior but apparently mp4 are not allowed.

Yes, I and others have seen that too. Certainly a bug in the Windows version. I don't know if any Mac users are seeing this.

Oh ya, seeing it all the time on macOS - and not just in b4 - it has been happening with previous betas but it seems to be happening more often. Very odd, actually.

Hi Dave and others

A shareable URL to those screen recordings would be useful. Please include details on your display layout and any patterns you may have seen. As an example, twin HD displays, 100% scaling, dual screen with full timeline, primary = left (display 1). Issue seen on the edit page (say) after ripple slides when when going to the media pool etc.

Thanks

When you are on the trim edit mode and the cursor is on top of a clip, if you open the change clip speed dialog by using a keyboard shortcut, the cursor gets stuck.

I'm also having this issue on this latest beta on Windows - and the previous versions of the 'sticky' mouse cursor.
I use the blade/razor tool quite a bit and whenever I select something else, the mouse cursor still shows the razor icon for some time after which is pretty annoying.

Same issue on my Mac. The cursor only changes to the arrow if moving horizontally from outside the popup window. When moving from the clip on the timeline the currently selected cursor is displayed. The Blade tool does the same thing.

Are you still on beta? Just asking because all post above are related to beta versions.
It has been out of beta for some time now sins July, the full version 18.5 + 18.5.1.
Or is this happening in the full version also?

Hello,
I just updated my Resolve 18.6 to version 18.6.1 and noticed that the cursor still behaves strangely.

What disappoints me most, however, is the fact that BMD support has not responded to direct inquiries for some time and there are no answers.

That's really a pity

What happened to this once great support? In the never-ending battle for the top spot in the NLE, BMD has unfortunately lost sight of the goal. or what should you call this behavior? Isn't customer satisfaction, resulting from properly running software, the most important thing? More important than one or two functions that are not error-free? Happy and satisfied customers were once the multiplier for the spread of Davinci Resolve, but unfortunately I can no longer boast that my NLE runs great and without any problems.
