No controls for new effects

No controls appear when I try to use some of the new effects in Resolve Studio 18.6. Eg "Paper Edge" or "Noise Distortion", see picture. What am I doing wrong?

Double click the name in the Inspector to drop down the options.

(I don't seem to have either of those. Are they plug-ins?)

It's a Fusion effect, Jim.

Christer, you should see this if you single click on the name in the Inspector. This applies to any effect where you only see its' name bar.

Hi again, I'm sorry but I forgot to say that I both single and double clicked on the effect name in the inspector, but nothing happens. For the "older" effects it works as expected but not with several of the "new" ones. I have reinstalled Resolve but that didn't help. There must be something else I missed.

Ahh, it's under Templates.

Working here as I described before, Christer. A single left click on the effect should open it as in the picture in my last post.
What other FX are not opening?

Hi again, and thanks Charles for trying to help me, but unfortunately a single click doesn't open the menu of controls like they should.

I have the same problem with the following FX:
Graphic Cross Overlay, Graphic Shape Overlay, Highlight Stretch, Noise Distortion, Paper Edge, Repeat, Shape Circle, Slice, Stretch Region, Watermark.

These FX also do not animate when I move the cursor back and forth over the name of the respective FX.

My other FX are working as expected.

I'm running DR on a MacBook Pro 2021 M1 Max with 64GB of memory, and haven't had any problems before.

Not all of them animate when moving the curser over the effect in the Effects list, but all are working when applied to a clip and controllable in the Inspector.
Here, for instance, is the Shape Circle open in the Inspector.

Hi again, I'm sorry I haven't been active on this issue for a while, but I've been in the hospital for almost a month and haven't been able to follow any of this advice. Now, however, I'm back in front of the computer and have updated DR to both 18.6.1 and 18.6.2 and tested the new effects, but with the same bad results as before. I want to point out that I run DR on Mac, and that the Windows version may not have my problem. I am also convinced that it is not a "trivial handling error" on my part such as not clicking on the effect heading to open the current effect commands. Is there anyone else on this forum who uses a Mac and has this problem? How to contact Black Magic Design regarding the matter?

They work as expected here on a Mac.

Hello again. Maybe I have a clue why the command bar for the latest effects in DR is not showing for me. If, for example, I select the effect "ColorBorder" (which works as expected) and click on the Fusion symbol at the top right of the effect name, I get the following in Fusion. See attachment 1.That is, the effect is there.

If I do the same with any of the "new" effects there is nothing in Fusion. See attachment 2.

Where in the system are the effects that come with DR placed?

Since I first installed DR 18.6, then DR 18.6.1 and finally DR 18.6.2, the new effects files should be in my system, but where?

If my file paths to effects have been corrupted is there any efficient way to repair them (eg deleting all folders after "Library>Application Support>Blackmagic Design>DaVinci Resolve" and reloading DR?). Thanks for all the help.

There are some threads from other users reporting that the new transitions/effects are not working. There are some suggestions there you can try

I found an answer from Bruce Bedell that detailed how to solve this problem.
