What is Blackmagic Design Desktop Video

I just installed/upgraded to resolve 18.6 from 18.5.
It opens fine but looking at the system requirements for Mac OS, BMD site states, "Blackmagic Design Desktop Video version 12.0 or later" required.
I don't seem to have BMD Desktop Video app anywhere, so...
What is it?
Where do I get it?
What does it do that's needed fo system requirements?

required if you have a video card that feeds SDI to an external monitor

if you are just using your normal hdmi / display port GUI monitors, you don't need it

Thanks Sven for clearing that out.

But BMD should update the requirements list and mention that Blackmagic Design Desktop Video is only required for SDI output becouse now it is very misleading!
