18.6 seems to be very buggy, with all sorts of features not behaving as expected, and much more frequent crashes than earlier versions.

How do I revert to an earlier version of the program?

It's just a simple uninstall of 18.6. Then download and install an older version from the BMD support page

Thanks!

I wasn't sure if there was a specific process I had to follow to be successful or not.

Under Mac in the same package of installer you have uninstaller.
Under win go to control panel and from app install remove you can uninstall resolve.

Keep in mind that if you load an old version of resolve are not compatible with your actual database, like every other software that are not back compatibles.
Eventually you can export editing like xml, or timelines that are more compatible between versions.

If you are going back to 18.5.1 then you shouldn't have an issue as long as you uninstall 18.6 first. However, many will advise that you create DRP exports of you most valuable projects just in case something goes wrong during uninstall/reinstall.
