Just saving the project doesn't protect you if there is a crash and that project gets corrupted.
We would recommend that for long term projects, you Export the project occasionally.
You can also do Project Save As operations occasionally to have incremental backups.
You can also use the Auto Save to Backup Project feature, which will automatically make multiple backups at a user defined interval.
We've made the Auto Save even more flexible and useful in Resolve 15.
Assuming you are using a Disk Database, if you look in the Project Manager Database area, you can see the path to the Disk Database. Down inside that path, likely in the guest user, is a Projects folder that has a folder for each project you have. If you find the project folder for the corrupt project, and zip it, and place it on a file sharing site, we'll see if it's recoverable.
