Thanks for double checking Dwaine.
I've have also checked on my Mac Mini M1 and the problem is the same. BUT I have found that the cause is the LUT in node 09 . It was not in my list on the mac at fist and when I rendered the grade was obviously not ok but the issue was gone. I've also checked on the others machines and same behavior. I'm checking other shots to be shure because theses tree leaves are a bit special.

Hello Dwaine,
It turns out that my rendering issues are linked to the LUT I have in node 09. When I disable it no more artefacts or blinking in highlights. I'm still searching ...

I just recently updated (finally a small bit of downtime at the beginning of the year). I'm now on Resolve v18.1.2 and can confirm that this issue has been resolved.

Running Resolve 18.1.4 on Mac mini M2, and am getting this issue when editing MXF footage

When footage is paused, frame looks great. But on playback I get bad white blocking covering almost the entire frame.

In the Playback menu:

uncheck "Use Optimized Media if Available"
Set Proxy Handling to "Disable All Proxies"
Set Timeline Proxy Resolution to Full
Set Render Cache to None

Did any of that help?

If not, open Resolve Preferences - User - Playback Settings. Set Performance Mode to Disable. Did that help?

Every setting prior to "Set Performance Mode to Disable." Did not help. BUT setting "Performance Mode to Disable" in User settings did fix the problem!

What will this affect with Performance Mode Disabled?

No problem with that setting if your footage runs smoothly on your hardware.
And if it doesn't, optimised media or proxies would be more efficient anyway. From the day I started using Apple silicon, I kept it off all the time.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

It could make your playback performance less performant. Or not...

If you want to dig a bit deeper, set Performance mode to Manual, and enable the 3 options 1 at a time, to determine which one is causing the issue.

You don't need a Resolve restart for those changes to take effect.

So turns out that disabling optimized playback fixes playback inside DaVinci, but has not fixed the issue with rendering. I've created optimized media of source footage and rendered using optimized media, I've transcoded source footage to ProRes, and still get the issue in my renders.

Any ideas? Is it the Apple silicon chips? I get the issue on both my MacBook Pro M1 Pro and M2 Mac mini.
