PostFri Oct 18, 2019 12:45 pm

Hi,

I just bought a band new computer ASUS G21 GeForce RTX 2070 8GB.
But the DaVinci Resolve 16 always crash and show the message said: The GPU failed to perform image processing because of an error; Error Code: 4 and 77"

Can someone help me to resolve this problem?

Thank you very much!

First thing to do is check your GPU driver and make sure you have the latest Studio (not Gaming) version of the driver. Should be the same one that I have given in my sig below.

Then read through the FAQ in the first section of this forum.

Could it be a corrupted source file? Does it fail at the same point?

Try a simple test project with just one clip and see if it still fails.

Do not take the DCH driver (only if required by windows). Try Standard.

Hi Jean Claude,

Thank you for your reply!
I tried a Standard driver first, but Windows wanted me to install the DCH driver.

Hello guys...

Same problems here!

Yet, I use a lot fusion and I don't remember have this problems with previous releases.

Know I have DR 16.2.5.015 do not want to update... :(

NOTE: Nvidia studio driver update. No corrupt files. Working on SD, HD and UHD. this error happens from a simple text on the footage (4 nodes) to a very complicate node tree, it is very random. Most say I pretty much work on H264 files.

** EDIT: I downgraded to Resolve 16.2.6 and the problem went away - may be a solution? **

Ok seems like this has cropped up again as I'm now having this problem and I see this thread was a year old but has new activity. That's why I'm here - looking for solutions. All the usual solutions have been tried. I am also having no output from edit page onto program output (black screen as discussed on other threads including here: https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=97616)
System 1: Custom build Intel i7-12700K, 64GB RAM, GeForce 1080ti 11GB, Fedora 42 (KDE Wayland), Resolve Studio 20.
System 2: Dell Precision 7810, Dual Xeon 2620, 72GB RAM, GeForce 650, Win10 pro, Resolve 20.

I ran into this same error, "error 77," when I tried to stabilize a clip that was 6720x4480 using DNxHR 444 in an MOV container. I was able to Resolve it by generating optimized media.
