BRAW Player has crashed when opened on my Windows laptop for the past couple of updates. I can see thumbnails of my videos, but I can't get one frame to playback before it crashes.

I updated...
Blackmagic RAW 1.5.2
Blackmagic Camera 6.6 update
DaVinci Resolve Studio 16.1.1

My system...
Acer Spin SP315-51 with Windows 10 version 1903
Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.60GHz
12GB RAM

Let me know if you need any more info!

Can you get the BRAW video to playback at all or does it just crash right away every time?

No, it just crashes at start up.

There have been some incompatibilities with recent NVIDIA drivers, Resolve, and BRAW as described in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=102152

If you have an NVIDIA driver more recent than 436.48, try reverting back to that version and try again. Please let us know whether that fixes it.

BRAW 1.6
Still doesn´t work.
Rolling back the driver isn´t an option because other software relies on the latest one.
It´s better you just fix the incompatibility.

It´s also very annoying that one has to fill out a complete form with address, telephone, email each time you´ll need to download an update.

BRAW Player should also have the minimum comfort to display next and previous clips in a folder and also can display the metadata.

Did anyone finally get this situation resolved? I am a new URSA mini pro user and I ran into this exact issue. I figured out why it happens, but the only fix sucks and is unreasonable. So now I find myself searching the forums and it seems like no one has figured out why it happens? HELP please!!!

I am so pissed off to not be able to read .BRAW files with the Blackmagic RAW player, the software just crash when opening.
When we buy a 3.5k $ camera i would expect the company to fix those issues very fasts.

I will try to revert my nvidia drivers but common BlackMagic, let take your customers problem seriously.

Wow, this thread was started in 2019. 2023 and the problem still exists?!

I agree; it is insane that a company that makes such innovative equipment/software would let major bugs remain YEARS later!

The only way I can play BRAW files is in DaVinci. If it works there, why can't it work in a dedicated player?

Windows 10

EDIT...
I have Nvidia driver v528.49 installed, so that's not the problem (according to an earlier post).

Seems to be a problem under Windows, works fine here on all our Macs. The system can even show thumbnails. Of course, it should be fixed for Windows too. But it would be very helpful for the developers if the recent contributors to this thread post their system details.
