Solved: Media Offline after importing iphone video

PostWed Nov 13, 2019 12:23 am

I recorded a video 4k at 30fps on an iphone 7 plus and as soon as I import it, it says media offline. My laptop has 8gig of ram, gtx 960m and i7-6700hq. I have 210gig space left on the drive I import files from and where Davinci save his.

I already tried to relink the clips and change the render speed. I tried to play the file on VLC and it seems to be playing okay.

I am a complete noob and first time using a video editor so try to dumb it down. I know how to google stuff though :D TIA!!

Edit: I found on another forum or this one... cant remember that all you need to do is to convert hevc(h.265) the file type I had to h.264. It opened afterwards. If you need a converter, I used handbrake - https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php.

How did you solve it?
Do we just have to convert it for it to work in Davinci?

You just need to know the specs of your footage !

The app Mediainfo will give you the specs and then you can look at the specs for the free or studio ver. of Davinci Resolve.

Resolve the problem ...... Windows or Apple os ?

Rapid development cycles.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
