If you want to test it, copy the project, delete the master timeline (or the nested clips in that timeline), and then try changing the resolutions of the individual timelines and see how far you get.
Thanks for the thought. Sorry to be so long in replying, but I'm trying to finish a school charity video project (supposed to go on sale on Sunday) and DR is really slowing me down.
Yes, I do have a master timeline with nested timelines in it. I removed it, but still had the same problem. I couldn't even change the resolution of the individual timelines without it crashing.
I noticed that my ClipCache was 1.5Tbytes, with content going back several projects. I cleared that out (after checking online that it was safe) but DR then just kept crashing when starting up (reports have been sent). I eventually got it running again, but I still can't change the timeline resolution to help speed up the workflow.
