Kensington Trackball and ControllerMate

PostTue Feb 04, 2020 2:14 pm

Have anyone succeed in mapping Kensington Trackball with ControllerMate to control color wheels Lift/Gamma/Gain but not tu use it as a mouse.

Was trying to map with the following actions for example:
Button#1 - move mouse cursor to the position of the Gain wheel, and press "right mouse button"
Button#4+Button#1 - move the mouse to the position of the "Gain Reset" icon and press.

I'v tried a lot of variants with the ControllerMate, but have not got a working result.

Have anyone tied and succeeded?

This has been solved for Mac users with an inexpensive program, nothing for PC as far as I have seen.
It can probably be done with AutoHotKey, but I'm not an AHK expert.

It can be done on PC with Macroworks which is a PC version of controllermate. Pretty sure with Autohotkey.

The essential functions is mouse click down and hold.

Can’t wait to try Better Touch Tool. So far I’ve only got Controllermate to properly click and hold on a Mac for Offset control with a Kensington.

Keyboard Maestro can’t seem to do it without glitching. Even in combination with MouseTools, Cliclick, shell commands, etc.

The attached contollermate programming works for me for Offset. The important thing to note, is the first and last programming block. First releases the mouse click down, the last holds the mouse click down.

You'll have to move the screen position on the cursor move blocks to your wheels. You'll have to assign a trigger, any kensington button should do it. I use an xKeys with a Kensington.

Controllermate is dying out though, so BetterTouchTools may be better.

Are you on Catalina or higher and Controllermate is working? It's dying out, but some people have figured out how to get to work on Catalina or higher. I have not.

BetterTouchToos worked, but was glitchy unless you left click after leaving each control. I wanted is so that any other control I call releases the mouse click down. So I use that first programming block on all other controls. I cannot get this to work with Keyboard Maestro with any combination. I have tried MouseTools, Cliclick, BetterTouch all in combo with KM, but something in KM interrupts the mouse.
