Bizarre Folders Created on Export

Hey All,

I've tried official supoprt channels and none seem to know what this might be.

I've attached a screenshot of what happens. Highlighted in red are those extra folders.

On every export we do, Resolve leaves a ton of folders behind and we have to go clean them up after.

We are on R15.2.2.007 and Windows 10 Pro Workstations. Our OSX workstations do not have this issue.

We render to Nexis Pro NAS/SANs. It seems to only happen there. No issues when rendered locally. I've also checked on this with Avid and their forums but no luck..

Maybe some of you have some ideas?

These look like a file system problem for Avid to fix.

Hi Peter,

After getting in touch with Nexis support; they suspect that this could be a Resolve thing. Since it coincides with resolve export and even just the creation of an export job I do aswell.

When I create a new render job, even prior to pressing "Render", a folder like this is created in the output directory of that job.

Maybe Resolve creates these working folders for its exports until they are complete. And normally these folders would be invisible and delete after the render completes?

Did you manage to find a solution to this Peter?

We are experiencing this exact same issue in a NEXIS environment as well. We have set the Interplay to not index any folders outside of the AvidMediaFiles folder on this volume, and these folders still appear, which lead us to believe that it is Resolve creating these folders.

Our belief is that Resolve is creating temporary working folders upon render, but then not deleting them afterward, as these folders are always empty. Something in Resolve's code isn't working correctly when it comes to cleaning up the render directories for NEXIS volumes.
