Keyboard Edit Workflow (No/Limited Mouse use)

Trying to replicate my FCP7 workflow in Resolve. Almost there... Need to fix some small bugs so I can lighting fast edit. First here's how it works:

1) Map the keys '1' through '5' to navigate between the window extensions from left to right.
2) Press 1 to select folder, then Press 2 and select desired clip. Press enter to open in Source Viewer.
3) Scrub through video using 'JKL' and the arrow keys (shift arrow to make a larger jump) Use arrow keys to jump between I/O points and top and bottom of clips. Mark desired In and Out Points using I + O Keys (using option and command keys to select a different In and Out point for audio/video if needed)
4) Using F9 and F10 to commit clips to timeline. Use up and down arrow keys to get between edit points.
5) Press 'Q' or '1-3' to return to a different window depending on next action.

BUGS:
1) When Source viewer is active, my 1 through 5 keys cease to function.
2) When using 'Q' to switch between Timeline and Source, lose ability to jump between edit points with up and down arrows.
3) Up and Down Arrows jump between markers and NOT 'I' and 'O' points

2 makes sense. Those shortcuts work on the active window, so Timeline would need to be active, not Source.

I can't duplicate 3.

There are default shortcuts for panel selection. Have you tried using those, instead of modifying them?

Are you agree, NiccoQuinto?

Yes, I totally agree. Being as it's abandoned software, BMD should defiantly take the best from back in the day. It's a different (and for many of us, far faster) workflow that should make a resurgence. Going to grab the mouse constantly is just a waste of time. Should feel automatic.

It's like, would you prefer to move around in a first person shooter with the mouse? Hell no! W+A+S+D

You can accomplish otherwise impossible feats using a keyboard utility. On Windows, autohotkey works well in Resolve, but it sounds like you're coming from Mac.

I'm currently doing all sorts of things which couldn't be achieved with Resolve keyboard preferences, adding additional instructions to create the desired shortcut.

Hi John,

Have you been able to programmatically access pull down menus in Resolve with AHK? I don’t mean program a screen position and click, but a macro that actually selects the menu item?

I can do it on Mac with Keyboard Maestro or AppleScripts, but I can’t seem to access pull down menus on Windows 10 with AHK.
